Meet Jenni
Hello! I’m Jenni, and I am so proud to share my home from home with you and to tell you about the amazing adventure we’re having at Jenni’s House. Picture this: a playgroup experience like no other in Rossendale, specially created for 0–5-year-olds, their awesome families, childminders and grandparents.
I also offer prenatal support through our bi-weekly Bump Club meetings, connecting growing families with amazing experts in all things pregnancy and preparing for a baby.
Transitioning from Teacher to Playgroup Innovator
So, a little about me—I used to be a teacher and I have a degree in Primary Education with a special focus on Early Years from York St John University. My journey began teaching in Rossendale, where I managed a Foundation Stage Unit for 3–5-year-olds. Then, I had the chance to spread my wings and taught at a British curriculum school in Dubai. But, you know what? Something was missing.
2020 hit us all hard with the COVID-19 pandemic, and as a teacher, I found it frustrating to have to teach those adorable two-year-olds through a screen. That’s when I knew it was time for a change. I conducted a survey, and guess what? You guys all felt the same way, missing the real life experiences, love and support for our little people.
Creating a playgroup like no other
Here’s the thing—you wanted more than just a place for your little ones to have fun. You wanted a class where you could connect with other grown-ups because, let’s face it, being a parent can sometimes mean limited adult interaction throughout the day. And that’s where my lightbulb moment happened!
I decided to create a whole new kind of playgroup, tailored to the amazing families in Rossendale and surrounding areas. Many babies were born during lockdown and couldn’t attend any groups, so I wanted to make sure they had a special place to grow, learn, and have fun. Plus, with my extensive knowledge in Early Years, I knew I had something magical up my sleeve.
